A nice destination. Rustic inside, practical folding table outside. The service is always friendly, depending on luck, sometimes quickly or sometimes really slowly. The food on offer matches the ambience and is tasty, although the selection is limited. But it fits! The price-performance ratio is reasonable, clear recommendation.

I would like to recommend a hiking trail that starts and ends from the Bartholdskrug. It's the A6 smuggler path (I swear I didn't smuggle). The path leads past the tunnel towards Oerlinghausen. The path is well marked. However, I did not go through the town, but turned left just before it. As a result, I stayed in the forest. But you come back to the A6. At the beginning and end of the path you will pass small wooden houses (I assume weekend house). I had my dog ​​with me who could walk well without a leash. Ok, my husband was there too 😘😉. The small menu offers essentially delicious homemade cakes but also delicious breads with various kinds of sausage and fried or fried egg. With larger numbers of visitors, waiting times for orders can be expected but this is compensated by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.

Absolutely beautiful, authentic and rustic ambience. The Bartholdskrug is open on weekends and public holidays. The quantity of different dishes is limited, but the focus is on homemade cakes, tarts and hearty cuts. And they just taste really good. Also great is the fact that the owner, Ms. Neuwöhner, with her over 95 years, still lends a hand and still makes the cakes, pies and cuts with her daughter herself. You should bring time, because the only drawback is when it is quite full and many come at once, the service staff are quickly overwhelmed and it can take a little longer, but they are very friendly and the quality of the food is definitely worth it ! 🍞🍰🎂☕

What can I say? Great bike tour destination. There is fresh apple pie and fresh wheat ... and you can sit outside .... top 😉
